WINTER IS NEAR. This fitted clothing thing just won't go away, and I love it! Other things I love this season are monochromatic mixed prints and thick cable tights.

SPRING IS NEXT. The biggest trend will definitely be the revival of the jumpsuit and denim material. Yep, denim is back as seen on the runways of DKNY, Alice + Olivia, Barbara Bui, Holly Fulton, Jen Kao, and especially apparent in the Rachel Zoe's ready-to-wear spring collection. Lea Michele beautifully embraced the comeback of both trends in the glossy pages of the December 2013 edition of Elle magazine where she sports a silk denim jumpsuit from the Balmain Resort 2014 collection, and it looks divine...on her. I'm not sure how many people can pull that look off, it can easily take a turn for the worst. The key will be accessorizing at a minimalist level. Lea Michelle wears a rather large gold embellished belt, a few dainty rings, and Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps in gold. The gold details of her belt and shoes perfectly complement the gold chain hardwear on the spaghetti straps of the jumpsuit and brought the look together without being overbearing.

A look that was not so successful is the same jumpsuit as worn by Zoe Saldana. Although her vamp nails, minimalist makeup, and pulled back ponytail were flawless, the black peeptoes she paired with the outfit were too chunky against the delicate sweetheart top silk jumpsuit. Perhaps if she added a stack of leopard and gold assorted bangles and white or gold open shoe pumps.

My favorite ready to wear Spring 2014 collections go to Duro Olowu and Vivienne Tam. Duro Olowu goes all out in bold stripes and the vibrant prints he has become so well known for.

Vivienne Tam brings something fresh to the scene. Her collection includes a unique play of floral which keeps the clothing looking feminine, without over indulging in "girliness". She also flirts with new silhouttes and monochromatic prints without being too overbearing.

Also worth noting are Jenny Packham, Zac Posen, Etro, and Sophie Theallet's phenominal collection of knee length whimsical feminine dresses.
